International Congress of Maritime Museums (ICMM)

ICMM is an ICOM-affiliated organisation and has the status to represent and support member maritime museums all over the world in matters of common professional interest.

The ICMM Congress, held every second year, brings together maritime museum people from many countries creating strong bonds between museums and individuals as a result. Congresses are held at maritime sites around the world enabling a sharing of cultures, knowledge and matters of concern to maritime museums. Companionable after-hours socialising, and excursions organised by the Congress hosts, add to the opportunities to network with like-minded people from many countries.

Governed by an Executive Council elected by ICMM's membership, the organisation is representative of international maritime museums. Specialist committees deal with subjects such as maritime archaeology and traditional and historic ships.
