ICMM links maritime museums worldwide, providing resources and communication opportunities for museum professionals

    Short Reports

'Short Reports' from the maritime museum community around the world is a format well known to those attending ICMM Congresses; short, information-packed reports on new developments, new museums, new exhibitions, people and events. Here's the 'Short Reports' format on the ICMM website.

No more trees…. but a great opportunity to communicate

With a completely modernised and restyled website, ICMM is entering a new stage in its almost 40 year’s life. No more trees will be cut for our ICMM maritime museum communications network.

Frits LoomeijerAlan Edenborough is managing the site from Sydney and the ICMM Executive Council will use the website as its communication tool. But it will be individual ICMM members who will make this site a success.

Following tradition, I have, as president, the privilege to write a column now and then, but from now on there is no reason why you shouldn’t join me in doing so.

Please, share your ideas and opinions on the new site. Let colleagues profit from you expertise. Make known what challenging projects you are working on and even make money by bringing your exhibitions to a global maritime museum market in an efficient way. The ICMM members-only forum allows you to exchange ideas and comments with colleagues within the maritime museum community.

The October 2011 ICMM Biennial Congress held in Washington DC and Newport News, USA, was voted a great success. Over 100 maritime museum professionals from 22 countries attended. Our new website will continue the information exchange we enjoyed at the Congress, so do visit often.
